Term 3 of Op58 in SA was held at the Marion Salvation Army on August 21st. We saw 114 young people come together for an amazing time of worship – many coming to Op58 for the first time! $214 was raised to aid the construction of overseas orphanages. Nath Casey from Ingle Farm shared the word and encouraged us to get uncomfortable with our self-denial. There has been great post-Op58 excitement about what we can achieve by Term 4!! A very successful EVD Operation 58 weekend was just held with $1480.65 raised to go towards an orphanage. Our special guest Adrian Kistan from Moree brought a very challenging message about aboriginal ministry and our Army truly reflecting the diversity of the Australian context. Friday night was spent with 30 people down at Warragul, then over 70 people gathering at Waverley corps on Saturday night. There is a growing sense of community growing amongst the youth of the division with great expectations for the upcoming Revolution Youth Councils Camp September 18-22.
The next EVD Operation 58 weekend is November 13-14 with Ringwood on Friday night and Healesville on Saturday night.
The next Operation 58 is quickly approaching in South Australia
It will be held at Marion Salvation Army (corner of Morphett & Sturt Rds) on Friday August 21st 7.30-9.30. We’re excited to see you and your little piggy there!
Operation 58 is about to hit South Australia for Term 2 with the Winter Sleepout.
Operation 58 for term 2 happened on Friday @ Box Hill and Saturday @ Traralgon. We were truly blessed to have Brad Ellis from 614 Melbourne leading worship and Danielle Strickland speaking about some very current social justice issues. 60 (Box Hill) and 30 (Traralgon) young people brought along there piggy bank pigs filled with money sacrificed from giving up something in their life, eg movie going or buying McDonalds. From both nights we collected $902 to go towards a project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The next ‘Operation 58’ will be August 21 and 22.
Friday 22nd August saw us raise our Op58 total to over $30,000! And we bought a goat with the money raised from our game! Make sure you jump onto facebook or myspace and name our goat… today!!
100 kids +100 pigs + 2 years = $30,000 and I orphanage.
